What the Contractor Registry is
Under New York Labor Law §220-i, no contractor may bid on a contract for public work unless it is registered with the Department of Labor, and contractors and subcontractors must register before starting work on a "covered" private project (one over $5 million with at least 30% public funding, under Labor Law §224-a). A certificate is valid for two years. The registration form asks each contractor about its workers' compensation and unemployment insurance numbers, outstanding wage assessments, debarment in the last eight years, final determinations of labor, employment tax or workplace safety violations, apprenticeship programs and MWBE certification, and the law requires DOL to publish the registrations and disclosures. The answers on this page are shown exactly as DOL publishes them; a registration is not a prequalification or a judgment of the contractor's responsibility.
Certificate details and disclosures come from DOL's published Contractor Registry data, exactly as published. Confirm the certificate in DOL's current data on the day you rely on it.
